Jere G. Michelson, executive vice president and chief financial officer for the Libra Foundation, was elected to the Gorham Savings Bank board of directors.

Michelson’s responsibilities include oversight of all financial aspects of the Libra Foundation’s interests. He was previously a member of the management group at Baker Newman Noyes and concentrated his practice within the firm’s corporate tax department.

“Jere’s skill set and experience will be a tremendous addition to our board,” said Chris Emmons, president and chief executive officer of Gorham Savings Bank. “His strong commitment to community and active involvement with numerous nonprofit organizations is consistent with our mission and values.”

Michelson, a resident of Scarborough, Maine, received his bachelor’s degree in accounting, from the University of Southern Maine, and his master’s degree in taxation, from Thomas College. He is a member of the board of trustees at Maine Medical Center, a board member of Pineland Farms Natural Meats, Inc. and Pineland Farms Potato Company, Inc. Through appointment by Senator Susan Collins, Michelson serves on the Military Academy Selection Committee.
