Tax Season and Cybercriminals

Cybercriminals are always looking for ways to extort your money and tax season is no exception. These scammers use high pressure tactics in hopes that you will respond – a voicemail message left on your home phone claiming that the IRS is filing a law suit unless you call a number in Washington D.C., or a phony IRS phishing email.

Don’t be a victim of fraud – do not call the number, and delete those emails. Remember to never give out personal information to anyone unless you have initiated the contact.

If you notice anything suspicious with your Gorham Savings Bank account, please do not hesitate to call the Customer Service Center at 207-839-4796 as soon as possible.
