Gorham Saving Bank is proud to announce its contribution to The East Windham Conservation Project of up to $50,000. This project will create the largest wildlife habitat and trail access corridor in Greater Portland, providing 2,000 acres of conserved land and a 30-mile trail network.

The Presumpscot Regional Land Trust (PRLT) had the rare opportunity to protect 750 acres of forested land in collaboration with the Town of Windham. GSB’s support of this initiative will be used as a matching challenge for private donors as they work to raise the remaining funding necessary to finalize the purchase this fall.

“We believe the Bank’s matching funds will inspire others to donate and help PRLT in achieving its fundraising goal. GSB is proud to support this substantial project, which will provide exceptional outdoor recreational opportunities to the Greater Portland community for generations to come,” said Steve deCastro, Gorham Savings Bank, president and CEO.

The East Windham Conservation Project will create 10 miles of new multi-use trails that connect to 20 miles of existing trails. It will also establish an accessible one-mile trail for all ages and abilities to walk, push a stroller, or bike allowing everyone the chance to enjoy a scenic overlook with sweeping views of the White Mountains.
